Julia Finnegan is an indie-folk singer/songwriter. Performing from the age of 13, Julia has grown up telling stories through song. In 2015, Julia released her first EP entitled Thoughts Collide which received radio-play across the region and across Canada on CBC Radio. She has just completed her Bachelor of Fine Art degree at Queen's University and is now set to focus all of her energy on delivering personal portraits through her music.

Welcomed by audiences from Kingston to Toronto, as well as Montreal, Julia has been fortunate to perform as a supporting act for musicians she admires. She has warmed the stage for award-winning artists such as Justin Rutledge, Kim Churchill, Matthew Barber, and Rose Cousins as well as many other notable and talented musicians from across Canada. In 2018, Julia was invited to play at the Wolfe Island Music Festival where she opened for The Weather Station at St. Margaret's Hall. Julia has worked hard to collaborate with local artists and has been able to bridge the gap between the visual and performing arts. She has performed at local art galleries such as the Dead On Collective, The Undergraduate Review Showcase (a Queen's publication that highlights poetry and artwork created by students), as well as the Queen's University's BFA '19 thesis exhibit, Exposed. She has planned many shows to help promote the city's local talent. In December, she put together the “Winter Begins Holiday Show” which featured an all-female lineup to help foster and draw attention to the incredible female musicians within the Limestone City.

Julia is spending the summer studying an intense Music Business program at Humber College and is trying to make connections within the Toronto music scene. She is currently working on the release of her first full-length album recorded with Jonas Bonnetta of Evening Hymns at Port William Sound. She is excited to continue to work hard and forge ahead to see what the future has in store.
